Thor viene mandato sulla Terra dal padre Odino ed è costretto a vivere tra gli umani. Una giovane e bella scienziata, Jane Foster, ha una profonda influenza su di lui, e finisce per diventare il suo primo amore. E’ mentre vive sulla Terra che Thor impara cosa serve per diventare un vero eroe, e quando la persona più pericolosa del suo mondo manda le sue forze oscure per invadere la Terra.
